Kichler table lamps, based in Cleveland, Ohio, is a company with a reputation for quality and reliability. Their lamps are, quite simply, functional works of art. Kichler designers travel the world in order to replicate trends and anticipate upcoming styles. Their lamps range from casual to traditional and from urban to contemporary with special attention to small fixtures and special details.

If you want a wide variety of glass table lamps and lamps of other materials, Kichler table lamps provides as many choices as anyone could want. If you have a special theme that you have built your home atmosphere around and are looking for table lamps to complement it, you will want to check out the Kichler brand.

Do you like your lamps to be works of art, a focal point of the room? Art glass table lamps made by Kichler are stunning accessories to any room. Unlike most glass lamps, these have a bronze finish and stained glass style bases that reach up to support an elegant shade. While one style has a conventional shade and another has a stained glass shade, both of them illuminate the base. This creates a soft, warm glow that’s rich in color and texture and makes this table lamp a functional work of art.

Perhaps you like a more casual atmosphere, a place that encourages relaxation and conversation. You might want to use more informal table lamps such as one of the many unique Kichler table lamps have subtle accents such a small branch with an exquisitely carved and life-like bird, a flowing vine or an illuminated lantern. These small touches are casual, yet they lend a soothing air of tranquillity while they imbue elegance to what could have been an ordinary light fixture.

If you want a modern, avant-garde room you’ll want to look into the many ceramic glass table lamps in geometric shapes or those that flow into subtle futuristic designs. They come in ceramics of different colors and patterns as well as shapes and sizes to fit any interior scheme. Their clean, artistic lines are perfect accents for more modern arrangements. Then there is a deep bronze swing-arm desk lamp makes a wonderful table lamp for a reading chair while blending in with modern décor and any type of furniture.

Lovers of antiques will like Kichler’s hand painted glass table lamps adorned with antique gold highlights, paired with shades that complement the bases’ sizes and shapes. Decorators that favour vintage themes will love the brushed nickel and brass table lamps, the water glass table lamps and the Victorian themed table lamps what are made with high quality materials and careful craftsmanship.

Kichler has something for everyone. Whatever your taste, budget or décor, Kichler table lamps has what you need to complete the ambiance and functionality of your home.

Everyone wants a beautiful home, whether they rent an apartment or own a residence of any type but we all know that decorating can be quite expensive. Some of us have even allotted ourselves what we thought was a generous decorating budget and were forced to either cut our efforts short or spend more than we wanted. So how in the world can we decorate our homes for comfort and style and still afford to do so?

One of the solutions lies in the way we light our homes. There are so many different options and styles! This is exactly why we can afford to cut costs on this particular aspect. Buying cheap table lamps doesn’t mean compromising our vision of the perfect home décor or skimping on quality.

There are hundreds of cheap table lamps to choose from and one good choice is glass table lamps. No matter how simple or extravagant glass is, it is nearly always in good taste and makes a simply decorated room look elegant and sophisticated. Glass lamps come in clear crystal, opaque and decorated ceramics or combined with acrylics or different metals. Glass is so versatile; there are styles that go with everything from French classic to futuristic schemes.

The materials you choose for your table lamps is more important than the price and many times you’ll pay less for a lamp of good material than a more expensive one make of inferior materials but which follows current decorating trends. The idea of being cheap is not dedicated exclusively to saving money but to get as much value as possible for the price that you pay. Cheap table lamps can be quite beautiful and many times, they outshine their more expensive counterparts.

When shopping for lamps it’s a good idea to bring along a photo of the room the lamp will be lighting. You can take it with your cell phone camera for ultimate convenience or bring along a printed copy. When you have all the colors and styles of the room right there in front of you, you’re more likely to choose the perfect table lamp and not have to waste time making return trips.

Another thing to consider in choosing a table lamp is who will be using it and for what purpose. If it is one that you turn on to watch a movie or television show, a decorative lamp that doesn’t have to give a lot of light will do nicely. You can choose it for its appearance rather than utility. If it is to sit on a table beside a reading chair you will need the best light possible and will have to shop a bit more carefully to get both utility and style.

Shopping for table lamps can be a lot of fun and it’s a real adventure seeing all the different style, materials, colors and patterns. Cheap table lamps will add the crowning touch to a beautiful room so go ahead and be creative!

It has always been thought that Lewis Comfort Tiffany, of the famous Tiffany jewellery store dynasty, developed the Tiffany style table lamps but it was actually Clara Driscoll who was the master designer behind this beautiful and timeless lighting fixture. Tiffany produced the lamps, contributed some of his own designs and the company continues to produce the lamps up to the present day. While Clara conceived the idea and was responsible for putting it into production Lewis, a designer of stained glass windows, helped to make it a wildly popular fixture in the homes of those that could afford it.

The first Tiffany lamp was introduced in 1899, a heavy bronze base topped by a leaded glass shade embellished with patterns of nautilus, dragonfly and Tyler scroll. These glass table lamps are considered part of the Art Nouveau movement. Lewis Tiffany was an admirer of Japanese art, which emphasizes the beauty of nature. Thus, many Tiffany lamps feature dragonflies, butterflies, vines, flowers and other stunning gifts from the forest.

Tiffany style table lamps can be elaborate or simple, filled with vibrant color or themed with just two or three colors that complement and contrast with each other. Once you see the difference between the leaded glass of a true Tiffany and an imitation you’ll realize why authentic versions are highly prized over copies, even the most beautifully rendered ones. The glow of the rich colors in leaded glass when illuminated by light bulbs or by the passing rays of natural sunlight can’t be duplicated with any other material.

Many people like to use these glass table lamps in the bedroom because of the romantic lighting they throw off but they are just as effective for creating a mood of sophistication and elegance in other rooms as well.

The right Tiffany lamp goes with nearly any decorating scheme from modern to antique, contemporary or traditional. It is an ageless design with elegant style whose colors complement any furniture, wall color or window treatment. Table lamps are 18-36” high with shade sizes 14-24”. They use one to three bulbs of 40-100 watts to accommodate any lighting requirements.

You may have seen only a couple of Tiffany style table lamps and be under the impression that there are only a couple of choices but you would be mistaken. There are hundreds of types and styles of Tiffany lamps! Since the lamp shades are basically geometric shapes, there is a nearly endless choice of variations of triangles, squares, rectangles and circles. These shapes make use of various designs such as scallops, sharp angles or soft curves combined with classic designs and exquisite craftsmanship.

No matter what type of decorating scheme you have in your home, a Tiffany lamp will fit right in. Whether your home is a Victorian hideaway, a riot of Art Deco jubilance or a study in the spare, clean lines of futuristic ambiance, Tiffany style table lamps will not only complement your décor, it will lend a flawless beauty with its timeless elegance tinged with tasteful frivolity.

Vintage table lamps are a great way to accent a retro, Victorian or French décor. There are many types and styles including wicker, bamboo, and glass table lamps. The type you choose will depend on the other facets of your arrangements and the type of furniture you have chosen.

Vintage is generally considered any item from another era. Thus, table lamps from the 1990’s and earlier fit the definition of vintage. This gives you a dizzying array of styles, colours and materials to choose from! In fact, if you have not begun to decorate in earnest yet, you may want to choose your vintage tables lamps before you decide on your furniture style or wall colour!

If you like a solid and secure atmosphere you will probably like the metal-based lamps that have been around since before electricity was even invented. There are a wide variety of faux hurricane lamps with one or two globes that have some beautiful metal bases. Ornate or functional, you’ll find one that suits your tastes. The globes can be beautiful clear or opaque glass that is plain and simple or painted with designs. There are, of course, many other styles of lamps with metal bases that you might like.

In the early part of the 20th century, wicker was very popular. People saw it as light and airy and indeed, it did convey that attitude. Table lamps were often made of wicker in order to go with the rest of the furniture. This type of lamp is an asset to nearly any décor.

Vintage table lamps or replicas from the 30’s and 40’s can be used as one-of-a-kind accents that you’ll probably not see in any of your friends’ homes! These lamps were originally made of iron or brass in an era that loved detail and craftsmanship but also appreciated something fun. Having left the depression behind they wanted something light and different. You will find table lamps that look like drooping flowers, vines and even birds reproduced in exquisite detail. If you’re lucky, you can even find an original that has been rewired!

The 60’s and 70’s produced many styles such as art deco, bubble lamps, ball lights which were considered almost space-age and geometric designs. These vintage table lamps were made of glass, ceramics, metal, chrome, wood and acrylics. The 40’s and 50’s saw the development of Lucite, which was very versatile and produced the first mushroom-style lamps that later regained popularity in the 1970’s. You’ll find lots of interesting shapes and colors in this style of vintage table lamps.

You might want to go for a more formal style and choose marble combined with porcelain. These stone and glass table lamps can be stately and elegant or a bit whimsical depending on the colors used and the type of art on the porcelain. In fact, this combination of materials is so versatile that you can choose them in the styles of the French Revolution to modern day, with Far Eastern influences to Western European!

Whichever vintage table lamp style you choose, you’ll have a work of art to illuminate your room!

Lighting is such an important part of the ambiance we try to create in our homes. Most people prefer lamps rather than overhead lighting; as well as concentrating the light on a particular area, the light from a lamp can be soft or bright according to your preference. Lamps are also an integral part of decorating and glass table lamps, in particular, can make such a strong first impression that it can enhance a decorating scheme or wreak havoc on it!

Glass table lamps come in such a variety of shapes, sizes and materials that nearly anyone can find one or more that will be perfect for their home. If your home is decorated with a modern theme that relies on clean lines and very little clutter, a ceramic lamp in a solid color will accentuate the clean, streamlined appearance of the room it is placed in. If you prefer more traditional décor there are clear glass lamps that are very attractive and go with any decorating scheme. These clear glass lamps can be simple, ornate or homey depending on the type of shade that you choose.

If you like Victorian or French furniture, glass table lamps also come in styles that will complement that style. You’ll find these lamps in styles that use hanging crystal teardrops, gold accents ala Louis XIV. You might prefer the Louis XV era that was delicate and feminine, using pastoral scenes, flowers and ribbons; you will find dozens of glass lamps to accentuate that decorating theme.

Once you’ve chosen the perfect glass table lamps for a room, does it have the proper type of shade? If you take a close look at the lamps on display in any store, you’ll probably find yourself admiring the lamp but not caring much for the shade, and vice versa. No matter how well a lamp fits into your home, the wrong shade can ruin a perfect room. If you see a shade that goes better with the lamp you would like, ask the salesperson if you can make a swap. Many times, they will gladly accommodate you!

Glass table lamps are so versatile, too! You have probably seen and admired so many lamps in store displays and wondered how to choose one for your own home. The base of the lamp is the most important part, for you can always change the style of shade. Do you prefer a futuristic lamp base with clean, spare lines or are you more an admirer of the Waterford-type cut crystal? Perhaps you’d like more of a Retro look with a funky geometric shape or you favour Oriental styles with their clean, Spartan colors and Far Eastern scenes.

As you can see, glass table lamps give you a lot of freedom to decorate your home however you please. They are one of the least expensive ways to change or complement the look of your home so go ahead—indulge yourself and have fun with glass table lamps!
